At an international level, there is the idea that plastic is not very ecological because its degradation lasts several hundred years. For this reason, campaigns are promoted to mitigate their use and opt for other materials.

Within the field there are several types of PET (plastics), which are separated by different types of resins, including high-density polyethylene (HDPEC), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), low-density polyethylene (LDPE), polypropylene ( PP) and polystyrene (PS).

Recycling involves saving raw materials, energy, water and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Taking into account that recycling generates many benefits, such as the generation of jobs; the groups that recycle in the streets carry out a selection, grinding, washing and decanting process. Later it is placed in the machines, where it is processed and transformed, thus making the bases for the brooms and the filament from previously recycled materials.
